Linda Whittaker
Linda Whittaker brings more than 20 years of experience as an attorney and executive counselor, with a career spanning in-house leadership, outside counsel litigation, and cross-border employment law. She has advised organizations ranging from Fortune 1 retailers to blockchain technology startups, consistently designing legal strategies that are both business-savvy and cost-effective. Her practice areas include employment law, corporate governance, commercial contracts, regulatory compliance, and privacy.
For more than 15 years, Linda served as in-house employment counsel to Walmart Stores, Inc. and Walmart Global eCommerce, where she advised the world's largest employer on the full range of employment issues — from hiring and termination to nationwide litigation management and immigration compliance. She led a multi-year initiative to audit and rewrite Walmart's U.S. HR policies, managed employment litigation across the Western region, and built the company's disability accommodation program. She also served as Deputy General Manager and Acting Vice President of HR for Walmart's eCommerce operations in Shanghai, where she led HR, internal communications, and cultural transformation efforts for a workforce of nearly 4,000 employees.
Linda later served as General Counsel and Chief Administrative Officer for a blockchain technology startup, overseeing legal, compliance, and HR functions in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment. Earlier in her career, she was a trial attorney achieving consistent defense verdicts across more than a dozen jury trials. She holds a J.D. with High Distinction from the University of Iowa College of Law and is licensed to practice in Illinois.
